How to add a pupil who already has a Sumdog account
Pupils may already have a Sumdog account if their previous school used Sumdog or if their family has a Sumdog account.

How to add a pupil who has a Sumdog account from their previous school (old school instructions)
If you have a pupil who has moved to your school from another school and already has a Sumdog account, you can link their account to your school.
This means they will not lose any progress and can use the same login details.
These instructions explain what needs to be done by the pupil and school to link the pupil’s account.
To be done by old school
To move the pupil to your school, the teacher at their old school would first need to remove them from their school. To do this the old teacher should follow these instructions.

These instructions assume that the old school instructions (above) have been followed.
To be done by the pupil
Once the pupil has been removed from their old school they will be able to request to join your school.
Ensure the pupil is logged out of Sumdog and log back in using their old username, password and school code. You will need to contact their old school if they have forgotten this information
A screen titled ‘You are not part of a school’ will come up when they login for the first time after they have been removed from a school.
Click ‘join a school’
Type in the school code and press ‘Request to join school’. Then click ‘Done’.
A teacher at the school will need to accept the join request
How to add a pupil who has a Sumdog account from their previous school (new school instructions)
These instructions assume that the old school and pupil instructions (both above) have been followed.
Once the pupil has sent the request to join your school, you will need to approve them.
Select ‘Settings’ at the top of your teacher dashboard
Click ‘MANAGE’ in the Manage students box
Click the pop-up box on the bottom left of your dashboard. (It will say ‘XX students is waiting to join your school’)
Click the names of the pupils you would like to join your school and click ‘Accept into school’
Select which classes you would like to place the pupils into and click ‘OK’.
Click ‘Save Change’ to add them
How to add a pupil who has a Sumdog family account (pupil instructions)
If you have a pupil who already has a Sumdog account linked to their family you can link their account to your school. This means they will not lose any progress.
These instructions explain what needs to be done by the pupil to link the pupil’s account.
To be done by the pupil
Log in to the pupil’s Sumdog account
Click the red house icon which has the pupil’s name under it
Click the green house button
Click the pupil’s name at the top right
Click ‘Settings’.
Type in the school code and press ‘Request to join school’. Then click ‘Done’.
A teacher at the school will need to accept the join request

These instructions assume that the student has followed the pupil instructions (above).
Once the pupil has sent the request to join your school, you will need to approve them.
To be done by the school
Select ‘Settings’ at the top of your teacher dashboard
Click ‘MANAGE’ in the Manage students box
Click the pop-up box on the bottom left of your dashboard. (It will say ‘XX students is waiting to join your school’)
Click the names of the pupils you would like to join your school and click ‘Accept into school’
Select which classes you would like to place the pupils into and click ‘OK’.
Click ‘Save Change’ to add them
