Family reports explained
Family reports allow you to view key data from your childrens’ use of Sumdog. For example:
- Time on Sumdog
- Questions answered
- Correct answers
- Accuracy
- Speed
- Skill status
- Coins earned
- Animal ranks
How to view family reports - Option 1
Note: This is a subscription feature.
Option 1: From the reports tab
These instructions will explain how to access family reports for all subjects from the reports tab of your parent account.

Click ‘Reports’ at the top of your parent dashboard

Click ‘START’ in the ‘Family report’ box

Choose a subject and click ‘Next’

Choose which children you would like to include in your report by clicking the circle next to their name

Choose the metric, the time, specific skills and the format you’d like to view.
Scroll down to make sure each option is filled. Click ‘Next’ to run the report

You will now see the report.
If the report is not useful, try selecting ‘Table report’ instead of ‘Bar chart’
How to view family reports - Option 2

Option 2: From your parent dashboard
These instructions explain how to view reports for your child.

Log in to your parent account and ensure you have selected ‘Overview’ from the menu at the top

You will see a list of the children in your family on the left. Click the downward facing arrow to reveal the data for the child you would like to see a report for

Click ‘REPORT’ under the subject you would like to view a proficiency report

On their individual report card either click:
‘Proficiency report’ to see a report showing the skills the child is working on and their progress
‘Proficiency chart’ to see a graph of the child’s progress through the standards/curriculum
‘Fact families report’ to see which facts they have mastered (from addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
The standards/curriculum is set by your child’s school if their account is linked to a school or by you if it is not.
How to understand family report metrics
This guide explains what each of the metrics you can choose to add to a class report mean.
Summary – This is an overall summary showing, for each pupil:
- Diagnostic test result
- Current level
- Focus skill
- Number of questions answered in the last 7 days
Time on Sumdog – The amount of time spent on Sumdog games in the specified time period for each pupil
Questions answered – Number of questions answered by each pupil in the specified time period and grade/year group level
Correct answers – Number of questions answered correctly by each student in the specified time period and grade/year group level
Accuracy – A percentage value calculated as the number of correct answers divided by the number of questions answered for each pupil
Speed – The average time it took for a pupil to answer questions from a particular grade/year group level
Skill status – Color-coded table showing:
- No colour for skills, which have not been started
- Yellow for skills, which have been started, but not completed
- Green for skills, which have been completed
Coins earned – A bar chart showing the number of coins won from questions answered in Sumdog
Animal ranks – A bar chart showing a comparison of the animal rank Sumdog assigns to pupils. The Animal rank will be based on the number of coins the pupil has earned since starting on Sumdog
