How students take the math diagnostic
The math diagnostic will start automatically for all new students when they first start using Sumdog.
If you have students who you would like to have retake their math diagnostic here is how you can reset their score. Once their scores have been reset they will be able to take the math diagnostic.
If you have set any work for your students, like a challenge or assessment, they will need to select their Math diagnostic from their Tasks list.
These instructions explain how students can take their math diagnostic.

Step 1
Have your students log into their student account.
If they do not see the math diagnostic click on ‘Tasks’

Step 2
Select the math diagnostic activity from the tasks list

Step 3
Click ‘START’

Step 4
During the math diagnostic, students can either skip a question or go back and review an answer

Step 5
At the end of the questions click ‘Done’ to submit the answers.
Note: If a student forgets to click on Done, the diagnostic answers will not be submitted and their result will show as ‘in progress; until they click Done
How students take the math diagnostic
This video shows a walk-through of the steps described above.
The math diagnostic has two parts and will consist of 55 questions in total. Students will need to complete both parts of the math diagnostic before they are given a score and focus skill.
If a student is not able to complete the diagnostic in one sitting, don’t worry they can continue where they left off then they next log into Sumdog.
Students will need to complete the math diagnostic before they can start playing the games on Sumdog.
